The method of complex potential is used widely to calculate the electrostatic field of a system of several infinitely long, mutually parallel cylindrical wires in a homogeneous dielectric medium with charges uniformly distributed over their length (plane-parallel field).
Results, obtained by the method of complex potential can be used, first, for piecewise homogeneous media and, second, for convergent wires and shells.
