Some concepts of transformation of a transient wave front in the near zone of an antenna into a spherical one in the far zone are considered. The characteristics of an antenna relevant to the wave front like amplitude decay centre, time delay centre and prompt impedance that can be useful in modeling short range radar are discussed.References
