Abstract

In this article the maximum reachable value of directivity of the surface wave along the impedance flange of antenna array are discussed. As shown by numerical experiment usage, single-directional surface wave can be achieved in very rare array characteristics combination. However, high surface wave directivity (over the 90% of surface wave power) can be achieved in many cases. It makes possible to construct surface wave antennas without any emerging parts over the surface.
