Abstract

An algorithm of a good initial guess selection for optimization of an antenna field distribution is proposed. The parameters controlling the field distribution are the depth of grooves and the width of lamellas of a reflection grating scattering a surface wave of a planar dielectric waveguide. The algorithm uses the energy characteristic of a single groove. An example of optimization of the cosine on-a-pedestal field distribution is given.
